Nina. [Don't mind him as the first thing he does is grab her hands, and starts examining them.] Where were you earlier today?

And the first thing that happened when he entered is a nine year old girl smacked him in the shin when she ran past, giggling wildly.

Nina frowned. "I went for a run? Why? What the hell is wrong with you?"

Getting smacked in the leg is the most normal thing about this entire interaction. He's sure he deserved it. Somehow. But outsourcing the smacking? Nina! He's shocked.

"Do you have any recent injuries?" Now he's trying to lift up her shirt. "Anything that bled?"

What's wrong with him? Is that he's your overprotective older brother. "Aella is dead. You need an alibi."

Nina smacked his hands away. "Stop! What the fuck are you going on about?"

So she had heard. Hang on. "You fucking think I did it?!"

Sure she was the first suspect that came to mind. Who else (other than Gadriel) had beef with Aella? "You do not need to lie to me, Nina. I will protect you."

"I didn't kill her!" She huffed. "If I was going to kill anyone it would be Cordelia." Duh. "Seriously."

He stopped his fussing at her, looking her squarely in the eyes. "I will protect you, Nina. If you did. I would take the blame myself." Because he probably was near the top of many suspect lists.

He remembers having to pull her away from Cordelia. That tracked. But Aella was also a target.

"I didn't kill anyone!" She shouted, arms thrown in the air for emphasis. "So don't go throwing yourself on a sword when you don't need to. I didn't do shit. I went for a run and came home. Ask any of the seven hundred creatures living in this house."
